2011 Inside-Out Classic Half-Marathon and 10K   Leave a comment

Both Lindsay and Natalie have expressed interest in running the Inside-Out Half in Cary (http://www.ncroadrunners.org/IOClassic/) on May 22nd. It is a 7AM start, so it should not be too hot. Fees: Marathon = $45, 10K = $25. Anyone interested? Could we field a Soles carpool?

Personally, I am leaning towards doing it if I have not over-committed my battered body! I would love to see Lindsay finish her first half this spring after her stress fracture and with her impending fall nuptials. The Philosopher’s Way is two weeks earlier and Uwharie Rumble is is seven weeks later.

Location: Two years ago, the race moved to a new course that leverages the roads, trails and greenways of Cary and of Umstead State Park.

The race will start on Weston Parkway near bandwidth.com at

and will finish in the bandwidth.com parking lot.

Starting Times: To beat the heat, the half-marathon will start at 7:00 a.m. and the 10K will start at 7:15 a.m.

Courses: Both the 10K and half-marathon are USATF certified "out-and-back" courses. Both the 10K and the half-marathon start on paved road, transition through paved greenway (Cary’s Black Creek Greenway) and crushed-gravel, hard-packed bridle trails of Umstead State Park, and finish on pavement. The courses officially close at 10:00 a.m.
