All Hallow’s Runs   Leave a comment

All Hallow’s run tonight in Southern Village! Let’s meet at 6:30 on the green across from Lumina. Thanks to Tracey for taking the lead on this! Thanks to Nana for some post run treats. Who’s in charge or the tricks?

A big shout out to Sharon! Our favorite Wiki knocked out her first (and only?) marathon yesterday in DC. Another big shout out to Nancy M. and Mary for placing in their age group at the inaugural Eno River Run on Saturday. What a beautiful course, though hilly and technical.

Well wishes and a big ‘Bon Merde’ to Christelle for her NYC marathon adventure!

Any last minute interest in OBX? Christelle and I are running (or limping as the case may be) and Kaitlin is coming to cheer. The more, the merrier!

Trail Run Sunday at Johnston Mill? Any other ideas?

Set you clocks back on Saturday night! who’s looking forward to an extra hour this weekend???/

Runs this week:
Tuesday: All Hallow’s Run @ 6:30 @ Southern Village Green
Thursday: FF run @ 6:30
Sunday (DST ends): Trail Run 9am @ the Mill?

What did I forget?

Have a spooky ‘trick or treat’ this week!

Running this week plus gearing up for Eno and OBX   Leave a comment

What a great Soles weekend! BRR bonfire at Slimey’s on Saturday and a gorgeous trail run on Sunday. Let’s welcome our newest Sole, Jaime, who survived an hour of trails with us and still wants to run with us again. 🙂

The inaugural Eno run (www.enoriverrun.com) is Saturday morning (8am for the 11 and 8:30 for the 6). Registration is still open for the 6. I think that Nana, Domo, Kelly, Christelle, Jaime and I at least are in. Who else is in? Who wants to carpool?

Any last minute interest in OBX? Christelle and I are running (or limping as the case may be) and Kaitlin is coming to cheer. The more, the merrier!

Runs this week:
Tuesday: Bolin Creek Run @ 6:15 @ CC
Thursday: FF run @ 6:30
Saturday: Eno River run @8

Bull City Running Co. proudly presents the inaugural Tough as Trails off-road series that features some of the most challenging, beautiful single track trail runs in North Carolina.

The series is comprised of 3 races in 2012-2013:

Eno River Run (10/27/12) [6 or 11 miles]
Uwharrie Mountain Run (2/2/13) [8, 20, or 40 miles]
Mountains-to-Sea Trail Challenge (4/7/13 – tentative) [12 miles or 31 miles/50km]

All three races have distance options, so scoring will be based on total mileage completed.

Running into the unknown…   Leave a comment

What a refreshingly soggy short trail run this morning! Good to see so many soggy Soles. It was good to see folks at the 10k Saturday, but I couldn’t stop to chat. Hope everyone had a good run! Congrats to Roger for his exciting 4th place finish in his age group.

An early happy birthday to Z-ball (ball-Z?)!

Less than 5 weeks to OBX. Are you coming? Feeling excited? Ready to run? Just remember that it is all about the fun and the food. Lacing up Sunday morning is just icing on the cake.

I will be out of town Thursday through the weekend, so will miss the runs. Several other folks are going to be MIA as well. So who is taking charge of the weekend trail run?

See you all at Community Center on Tuesday! Let’s try that combo trail/road route from last week if the weather holds. Bring night gear!!!

Upcoming Runs:
Tuesday: Bolin Creek @ 6:15 @ Community Center

Thursday: Campus Run @ 6:30 @ FF

Sunday: Trail Run @ 8:30 AM @ ???

What did I forget? Mutinies, as always, encouraged.

May blazing new worlds open up for you!
