Uwharrie Week   Leave a comment

I am definitely falling down on the job this week! But Rock’n’Roll kept the beat with last night’s FF run. I am out for Thursday night and many of us are out this weekend for Uwharrie! Anyone up for organizing local runs this week?

Fingers crossed for Nancy’s MRI results!!!!

We’ll be back and blazing next week…

Feb 9th Potluck for the Uwharriers and their Fans!   Leave a comment

Lynne and Roger are sorry to miss out on the Uwharrie weekend. However, we are hoping to host a potluck, loosen a few tongues, and hear a few stories! Would all Uwharriers and their fans come by for a potluck on Saturday Feb 9th at 6pm at out house (address below). We’ll have a couple of hearty soups, beer, and wine. Feel free to bring something to bring along. Feel free to bring along friends and family.

Let us know if you can make it, so that we can have the pleasure of anticipating hanging out with you!

Cool Running   Leave a comment

Congratulations again to our birthday Bigfoot for rocking Little River and winning her age group! I think we all had a fun mud run on Saturday. Thanks to Nana for hosting our post-run birthday celebrations.

With less than two weeks to U-Day, this was our last tough weekend. Domo, Kelly, Bea and I road-tripped to the big U yesterday to preview the last 12 (measured at over 13 on Domo’s watch). The first few were deceptively gentle, but then bang! Ay me duele (trans: ‘ouch that hurts’)!

Spring mentoring starts tonight! I am assistant coaching for the Advanced 4, so who is up for joining us for some speed work? This also means that I will be moving/missing Tuesday and Saturday run through April. Sorry, y’all! We’ll sort it out though, once we survive Uwharrie.

Tuesday: undecided – Anyone want to plan one? (I am out)

Thursday: Easwood Lake Loop @ Home Team @ 6:15

Saturday: Anyone up for a 9:15 trail run ?

Sunday: 9am trail run

Snow-ed Out Tonight!   Leave a comment

Unless someone mutinies, I am calling a Soles Snow Day and canceling tonight’s run. Everyone OK with that? The winter weather advisory starts at 6pm and it will have been raining all day.

I might go for a swim instead, then tuck myself in for the night and hope for a work snow day tomorrow.

BE SAFE!

Yours in white,

Snowda

LR CarpoolCaravan   Leave a comment

There are several emails around on the LR caravan. So I am consolidating.

Best suggestion so far: Carpool from Nana’a ( Carlton Drive cul-de-sac) at 7:35. Parking is not an issue and it will be easier for Bigfoot’s birthday celebrations. If someone can get me to Nana’s before, that would save everyone the extra time/confusion diverting to my place. (Any volunteers for Yoda retrieval duty?)

If you are in, can you chime in so we know who is coming and who is not?

So far: Hart/West clan, Morellis, Kelly, Slim(E)ball, Yoda, Alyson, Kim …

NB: A few folks have pointed out the bib transfer is not normally kosher, so let’s keep that off public forums the Soles email list. I really appreciate that the trailheads are being cool about this for LR!

Running Into Little River   Leave a comment

Congratulations again to our favorite Goofy Sole for bringing home the Disney bling! Way to go Christelle.Fingers crossed for our Knee-dy Sole’s quick recovery from surgery!

We had lots of good running this weekend. New Hope Overlook was beautiful, first with the fog and then with the sun. And then Sunday with Briar Chapel or Seawall.

Three week til Uwharrie (which I still can’t spell)! Everyone should be excited and a little nervous, but we will have a great time. Look for a logistics email sometime soon (maybe next week). Nana has reserved rooms, so, if you don’t need yours, let her know ASAP…

Little River is this weekend. Who’s excited? It looks to be unseasonably warm (above freezing!). We’ll be planning a carpool later this week. If you aren’t LR’ing, ZBall is planning to run the New Hope loop. Either way, it will be Bigfoot’s birthday, so plan to celebrate!

Sunday? Sunday AM runs seem hard to plan in advance. Input appreciated!

Spring Mentoring: Think about it. Tuesday night speed work would be good for us all…
